Luxury Fly-in Outposts - Conservation Polices
We have maintained our fly-in trophy lakes and fisheries by implementing certain fish conservation policies to insure the success of our fisheries for decades to come. Some of our lakes are strictly catch and release. Others are Catch and Consume and Catch and Release. All lakes are offered on the understanding that no trophies are taken. As far as trophies go, its strictly CPR, "Catch, Photograph andRelease" on all of our lakes. Needless to say you must observe the fishing regulations to the letter of the law. Each outpost may have other specific restrictions. Outpost Links: Brownstone Conifer Hailstone Headwaters Papaonga Sumach
The above are strick guidelines. What follows are not strict guidelines but are suggestions that we ask you to consider.
We ask you to review the best fish handling practices to insure that the fish you do release are not doomed to a slow death due to poor handling techniques. We encourage you to remove the barbs from your hooks. This forces you to be a better, more observant fisherman. Using barbless hooks means that once you have a strike you have to keep your rod tip high and avoid any slack in your line. However, if you do break you line, the fish can probably spit out the hood. Once in the boat, you will cause the fish less stress and injury taking out your hooks. Treble hooks kill fish. Please remove your treble hooks and replace then with a single barbless hook.
A fish can stay out of water without injury for about as long as you can hold your breath. Try to land, measure, photograph and release your fish within one minute.
Moose and Bear hunts every fall. Go for a trophy.
