The Lake
Walleye and Northern Pike. Papaonga is a scenic lake located 50 miles northeast of our base camp. It has great structure and lots of bays and reefs perfect for catching an abundance of beautiful blue walleyes. Troll through it's many weed beds or explore the extensive river system to latch on to one of it's trophy northern. To ensure quality fishing for years to come, Papaonga has a conservations policy; No trophy's out of the lake (pictures only), and conservation limits only. The Cabin
It is a three bedroom frame structure with knotty pine interior. There is a full kitchen with fridge, four burner stove, freezer and everything for your cooking and eating needs. There is a modern bathroom with a shower and a composting toilet. The futon couch and chairs in the sitting area are the perfect place to relax and recount the days adventures with each other while enjoying the gorgeous sunset across the lake. A gas grill and fish cooker are also located on the porch for more enjoyable summer cooking. Around the corner from the cabin you will find your own private beach. Down by the lake there is a screened in fish cleaning house, where you can clean your catch of the day for supper. With all these conveniences, Papaonga is the perfect place to bring your family.
The Equipment
On the docks you will find 14.5 foot Alumarine boats waiting for you with 9.9 Yamaha outboards. The boats are equipped with swivel seats, anchors, paddles, landing nets and minnow buckets
What to Bring
You need to bring a sleeping bag or blankets, clothing, bath towels, dish towels and cloths, food and beverages, fishing gear, paper products, camera, and bug spray. Everything else that you need to enjoy a fabulous fishing adventures awaits you there.
