Our moose hunt went well, the weather was perfect for those who indulged. The biggest rack came off of Kinaso, a 57" rack by William Pim and Ron Peterson both from Minnesota. Also to mention Ronnie Stumpf and his sonin law Brian Godsen. Brianxs first time hunting moose they took out a 51" rack from Hisson Lake. The water levels on the outposts lakes were about normal all summer. We have always promoted conservation limits for years on the lakes. Historically the fishing has only been better over the years. This year we have asked that Conifer and Sumach are conservation limits only. This will help us preserve the fishing in those lakes for years to come. The no trophyxs out policy has been paying off. We have many mentions from our guests of the nicer catches and some nice trophyxs being caught and released. We always like to take this opportunity to says Thanks! and let you how much we greatly appreciate you choosing Excellent Adventures for your fly in vacation. Best wishes, Faron & Joyce Buckler December 2004 GREETINGS!.....To Our Friends We would like to Thank everyone who visited Excellent Adventures this past summer Your support is what helps us continue to have successful seasons. 2004 has been another great year for us at Excellent Adventures. We are always trying to improve the quality of your fishing experience and we are grateful for the positive feedback that we have received and appreciate any comments or suggestions that you might have. As many of you know we now offer a fly in American Plan Lodge on Trout Lake . This is really nice giving our guests the choice to choose to have someone else prepare their meals, maybe guide them or if they want to treat their wives to a fly in trip without having to rough it, this is the place. Also the lodge makes a great place to perhaps combine business with pleasure for your company. Those of you that have met Carmen & Colin our daughter and soninlaw will understand our excitement with our plans of having them on board with us this coming season. Colinxs pilot and great handyman skills will be an asset for the outposts and Carmenxs knowledge of our operation and her office skills in the tourism sector will be a great help. This year the fishing season started off with a snow storm May 12th, imagine? The Whitson group from Missouri recommends that we get better snow shovels at the outposts. It lasted for 3 days. It was the summer that never happened. This past season had to be the windiest and wettest on record. The overall temps for the summer were cool with way above average rainfall. The high water at the outpost caused all kinds of problems. Docks were under water and levels on some of the lakes were almost up to the cabin. Even at the main base it was a concern of ours, we ended up moving our dock shed off the dock and could not use the big floating dock at the end due to the water almost being over the main dock. Most of the summer was spent doing repairs and maintenance to all of the outposts ...general upkeep and improvements and fixing docks while dealing with the high water. Overall the fishing was still exceptional as always at the outpost lakes, probably due to the cooler water temps and many people still really enjoyed there vacation in spite of the weather. Fishing on all our lakes continues to improve each year probably due to the conservation policies that we implemented. The moose hunt this fall was slow the first week because of the warm weather but really turned around the second week when it cooled down. We had some real nice bulls taken again this year. Our largest being on Hisson Lake, a respectable 55x by Ron and Mike from Red Wing, Minn. Jerry Kopatzxs 54x bull was real nice and Ed Ruebin at Headwaters Lake also got a 43x bull. We continue to upgrade our web site and are planning a major overhaul of it in January . Also this year we are including a satellite phone with each package at the outpost. We think it is imperative because of the remoteness that our guests be able to contact us immediately if a problem should arise. Also we are continuing to replace our equipment making sure you have new outboard motors at most of the outpost this year. We are happy to announce that we now will have overnite accommodations here at the float plane base in Ear Falls. Just let us know when you book if you need a room for the night before you fly out. We also now accept MasterCard and Visa for final payment. Joyce's recipe for this year: Poor Man's Lobster. Cut your fish into chunk size pieces, as many as needed to feed your group. In 8 cups of boiling water add 4 tablespoons of pickle juice. Carefully put the fish pieces into the water. Donxt overcrowd them. Cover and return to a boil till fish is firm and flakes (about 2 minutes), remove the fish from the water and drain. Serve with warm melted butter for dipping. Enjoy! We wish you a prosperous and safe 2005 Hope to see you next year And remember whatever vacation you decide to take we hope it is an Excellent Adventure....... Excellent Adventures 2004 Newsletter

About Excellent Adventures Excellent Adventures operates a Commercial Air Service for our clients. It includes Dehavilland Dhc-3 Otter, Beech 18 and a Cessna 185 aircraft. We also utilize an Aeronca Champ for maintaining and servicing the Outpost Camps. Established in 1990, Excellent Adventures operates six exclusive outpost camps on remote wilderness fly-in only lakes. Five of these are within a 40 minute flight of our Ear Falls float-plane base. Along with fully modern cabins with indoor plumbing we also offer our clients lakes with choices of 6 different species of fish. Whether you are looking for trophy fishing or a lake that offers action packed days, we have it all . Our fishing is simply World Class. When we began managing our lakes almost twenty years ago, policies were implemented to preserve the productivity of our fisheries. While guests are allowed to bring limits home from most of our lakes they must pay attention to there specific lake policies. All of our lakes have a strict 'No Trophies Home' policy to insure our fisheries remain the quality that makes our guests return year after year. This also includes the policies of 'Catch and Release, consumption of smaller fish only' at our Headwaters Trophy Outpost. Modern life like replicas of your trophy fish can be made by today's expert taxidermists from a good photograph and just taking two measurements. We also expect our guest to review and practice proper fish handling to insure that fish returned to the lakes will remain healthy and contribute to next years production. All these lakes are superior in habitat for game fish. They all have flowage through them and the constant supply of water delivers the nutrients that support the food chain that in turn feeds the fish with a never ending supply of prey. Today with our policies that the trophy fish are returned to the waters unharmed and the spawning population of female fish will grow it assures that these world class lakes maintain there high quality for the next generation of fishermen to enjoy.
